The River Before the Monsoon

The Mula - Mutha River flows throughout Pune. Here is a photo taken pre-monsoon on the bridge crossing from Koreagaon Park into Kalyani Nagar.

Notice how low the water level stands in the riverbed. We have heard that during the monsoon, the river water will rise up to the bridge.

Here is a small temple located near the river bank. Our society is located directly behind the white - yellow - blue building.
It will be interesting to see how wide the river will become in a few short weeks. Monsoon starts the second week of June.

A Shepherd Gathers Its Flock

Today we finally received our sea crate! After packing everything up in late February it was a relief to finally receive our belongings and begin to assemble our home. We also received Lily today. As you can imagine it was a little hectic. She arrived a little sleepy, but she remembered us immediately and gobbled down two bowls of water and food.

Later in the afternoon, after the movers left the flat, Lily began to whimper and run around the house. The windows were open and we heard a strange noise. We went to look out, and we saw a herd of sheep and goat wandering down our little lane. (Of course there was a rickshaw present!)
Here is Lily's first day in Pune! She gets to see dogs, sheep, and goat.

The interesting part of the story is that later that afternoon, Paul and I took a walk and saw a Porsche parked near where the animals were wandering. Only in India, I suppose.
