Week 36

Week 36 . . . our ninth and last month. Only 4-6 short weeks until Peanut's big arrival in India. Paul and I have been getting the room ready and nesting a bit around the house. The remainder of the baby furniture should arrive sometime this week (hopefully!).

Peanut and I are doing well. We are keeping up with our morning walks and yoga exercises. No strange cravings right now . . . except for citrus juice and anything sour. I can still manage to wear my wedding band and the heat has not turned my ankles in 'cankles.' I consider this pretty fortunate since the heat is already in the upper 90's which is quite high for March. April should be a very hot month.

Things continue to go pretty smoothly here in Pune. Nothing new to report.

For Baby

Today, the ladies decided to throw me a baby shower for little Peanut. It was a hot, steamy afternoon, so we retreated into Loveena's cool house for the afternoon of food and fun.

Yummy! Petit fours from The Coffee Jar! Truly the best cake in Pune!

Sugar cookies which Paul enjoyed for breakfast this morning . . .

Michele with Baby Jasmine . . . Time for lunch . . .

The games begin. . .Everyone is trying to figure out how big my belly is with a piece of string!

Bec with Baby Jasmine . . .
Kirsten and Mieke tie at well, I'm not telling you how many inches!
Diaper making contest! Jo-Anne and Liz making the most eco-friendly diaper . . .

Lucy horrified I am taking her photo in this state . . .
Kath and Kirsten are certainly the most creative team . . .
And the winner is . . . Jo-Anne and Liz for most eco-friendly and simple.
Peanut got some really cute stuff at the shower including a vibrating giraffe for the pram . . .
And the best book ever . . . who doesn't like "Are You My Mother?"

It was a lovely afternoon retreat! Thanks for the lovely day ladies and the wonderful gifts.

Week 32

Week 32 . . . only 8-10 weeks to go! Baby Behrens and I are doing well, I suppose we are just trying to survive the heat. Today, the temperature reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit! It's going to be a steamy two months for this pregnant lady.

The cravings have begun . . . we currently like fresh strawberry milkshakes, lemon bars, grapefruit juice . . . and of course lots of chocolate! Paul and I have begun to try and get the house organized for Peanut's arrival.
