Baby Anna's First Week in America

Baby Anna turned 3 months old today! She's had a busy first week back in America. Here are a few snapshots from the week before we left to visit Anna's great-grandparents in Illinois.

After a long journey to Mumbai . . . Anna snuggles up in her bassinet on her first airplane ride from Mumbai to Amsterdam. She was the perfect little traveller. We swaddled her tight and she slept the whole journey.

Back in the States, Anna enjoys getting some zzzz's outside in the garden . . .

The following day we went to the zoo with the Guinn's . . . Anna enjoyed meeting her new little boyfriend Ryan who is 4 weeks older than her.

Baby Anna @ 2 3/4 Months

Baby Anna has had a great second month. She's been building her strength and is full of smiles and inquisitive stares. She is really starting to explore the world around her which is exciting, and sometime frustrating for her. She is enjoying music--she especially loves Bach and nature sounds. She is learning to enjoy her nursery rhyme CD. Here are some highlights from the last three weeks before she embarks on her adventure to see her homeland for the first time tomorrow.

Anna plays with her Rajasthani buddies after she wakes from a nap . . .

Anna and Ethan, with Sanju, her boyfriend's nanny . . . while Mommy eats a quick kabab with friends.
Baby Jasmine (7 months) comes to play with Anna on a rainy monsoon day. She decides to surprise Anna by waking her up in bed . . .
Sofie la Girafe makes an appearance and quickly becomes Anna's new friend . . . This friend she can actually grab and make squeak.

Tummy time! Anna's favorite part of the day has now become an all day activity. Anna is trying to figure out how to roll over which is oftentimes very frustrating, but she's been working at it all week. . .

Back on her side, Anna decides crinkly blue and silver wrapping paper is the most fun to play with . . .

Off to the Land of Nod, sweet dreams of rolling over, milk, giraffes and wrapping paper . . .

Mommy and Anna fall back asleep after Anna has her breakfast in bed . . .

Runners take your mark! Time for tummy time again . . .

Before we return to the States, Anna's best friend Drori and boyfriend Ethan come for a visit. Here Drori is teaching Anna how to roll over using her arms not her head and neck. After practicing all afternoon, Anna has learned how to roll from tummy to back, but we are still working on back to tummy. Yes, Mommy was super excited by Anna's accomplishment that she did all by herself.
The Gang's All Here! Anna (11 weeks), her boyfriend Ethan (8 weeks), and her best friend Drori (14 weeks). Anna is going to miss her friends, and so is Mommy. But Anna and I are very excited to meet her new friends back in the US.

And so we're off tomorrow afternoon, for Anna's big adventure and introduction to her home country. We're all almost packed and looking forward to meeting Grandpa and Nana at the airport Friday morning. We cannot wait to see everyone at home! XXOO
