Happy Birthday Melissa

Happy Birthday Melissa! No way to celebrate the new year like moving yourself and home to a new country! Paul took me out to Mocha--a delightful coffee house/hookah bar! We had a great caffe latte and a yummy basil-tomato panini.

This photo was amusing to us. "Firniture." Yes, indeed. This is more than likely why I cannot find any furniture that is suitable for my new home. Everything here is made out of plywood and glass, so it's been interesting looking for a dining room table and new sofa.

Ah, yes. The auto-rickshaw in all its glory. We actually took our first rickshaw ride later that evening after dinner.

For dinner, Paul took me to The Ship--Continental cuisine with an Indian flare. I had ratatouille crepes with eggplant, zucchini, corn and pumpkin. They were very good and Paul had some sort of chicken dish. We decided to splurge and get a non-domestic bottle of wine. After all it was my birthday. We decided to purchase a bottle of French Pinot Noir, though something in my gut told me to stick with the domestic bottles. Alas, the bottle came out chilled and was completely rotten. I tried to drink it by plugging my nose, but it was too much too bear! The amusing part was that it cost $50 USD. We learned our lesson on ordering imported wine. See Paul below with the bottle in question. We split a brownie sundae for dessert. It was good, but definitely not up to Feldman's standards of baking!
Paul somehow coerced me to take my first rickshaw ride on my birthday.

Note his silly grin since he is taking the photo of both of us.
