Mangoes and Musings: Baby Anna's Ninth Month

Baby Anna turns nine months old today. Still crawling everywhere, but even faster, and getting into lots of trouble crawling beneath and into things, Anna is getting taller everyday. Anna still pulls up onto everything, including walls, and she began to cruise a bit by the end of the month. She really mastered self-feeding at the end of the month much to mom and dad's happiness. In other words, mom and dad relaxed a bit, and let Anna figure things out on her own without worrying if she would choke. Anna likes to eat cheerios, cucumber sticks, rice cakes, orange pieces (well, she likes to suck the juice out of the orange), and baby snacks. She also learned to master lumps in her baby mash, including whole blueberries. Anna decided to stop using her pacifier this month, and much to our amazement is finally sleeping through the night as she now knows how to put herself back to sleep without sleep aids. Mom and Dad are very happy to get 11 hours of Baby Anna sleeping peacefully. Well, at least, for the current month, who knows what hurdle we will cross next month! We decided to go for a walk one night in Kalyani Nagar to pop into a few shops, and Daddy carried Anna around while Mommy shopped.

This is our local baby shop. I know, it's almost up there with BuyBuyBaby, Babies 'R' Us, and Target. Seriously though, I do a happy dance when I am so lucky to find Gerber Oatmeal cereal or Aveeno lotion. Surprisingly, this little shops has lots of products jammed in there amongst the local things.
